I saw this bus the other day outside of my friend’s apartment in downtown LA, and it made me remember something that I so often forget… I fucking love Oprah. 

Okay, okay, settle down. Some of you hate Oprah. And I have a question: what is that all about? 

As I see it, there are some pretty fucked up reasons that people don’t like her. And namely, they revolve around the fact that she is allegedly “a bitch”. And you know why that grinds my gears so much? Because that is what everybody says about every woman in any position of power in this country, and particularly public figures. Did people really care about what Martha Stewart actually did to wind up in prison? Not so much. What was all over every news source was what a battle-axe she was to work for, and what a horrible person that made her. Similar with Oprah, Madonna, Hillary Clinton, I mean, the list goes on and on. 

I think that if we held men to the standard that unless they are “nice” nobody would support them or applaud them for all of the awesome things that they do and contribute to the world- well, then we would surely be lacking in men to congratulate, emulate and praise. 

And I love Oprah, she’s the jam.
