I like this Troy Patterson character. A TV reviewer for Slate, he writes up Pam Anderson’s new show, “Girl on the Loose.” I haven’t seen it, so I don’t have any two cents to throw in, but I will say that for the first time in recent memory, Pam Anderson is reviewed with some thought and consideration, and jokes about her appearance (no one can resist, I guess, even the most conscious of reviewers) seem to be actually light-hearted:
This is not a bimbo: Wherever else the woman’s tongue may have been, it is often found in her cheek.
He also considers Pam’s motivations for having a TV show carefully and realistically:
Pam has all the fame she wants. What she needs is that white light of attention, and she’s smart enough to know the difference.
Oh, so refreshing! Thanks, Troy Patterson. Classy move.

I actually caught a little bit of this show when I was taking a lunch break today. Its not groundbreaking or “not to be missed” or anything, but it was cute, intelligent, and definitely bumped up my opinion of her as a strong woman considerably. She’s pretty rad and I kinda want to be her friend.
