In case you missed this news the first time it came around, another report was released today that showed that abstinence-only programs don’t keep kids abstinent. At all. They don’t work. They doooooon’t work. I wonder how many times we’ll have to say that before it sinks in? Or before we stop throwing millions and millions of dollars at it because some of us seem to think that nothing, nothing at all could be worse than horny teenagers having facts about sex.

If you like wasting that kind of money on programs that don’t work, by the way, you should definitely vote for McCain, cause he loves him some abstinence-only. According to the LA Times:

McCain believes abstinence is “the only safe and responsible alternative.”

“To do otherwise is to send a mixed signal to children that, on the one hand they should not be sexually active, but on the other, here is the way to go about it,” according to a statement provided by the campaign.
