And so I behaved like an idiot when I interviewed her.
You can’t tell from the link, but during the actual interview my voice rose about three octaves, and I punctuated every answer she gave me with “Oh, wow! That’s greeee-aaat!” I actually had to stop transcribing the interview a few times in order to hang my head in shame. Here’s an outtake:
Jackie: People just can’t afford $100 – $150 trainers anymore.
Me: Right, yeah I know, it’s hard for everyone right now.
Poignant insight! It IS hard. So hard.* Here’s another, re: a drop-in rate for people who want to come and use her Sky Sport and Spa gym for a little while:
Jackie: That’s a $10 rate, you can come in, you can use the gym for an hour and a half.
Me: It’s a $10 rate?
Jackie: Yup,
Me: That’s great! And is that with a trainer?
Jackie: No, you can use the facility by yourself.
Yes. It’s $10 for an hour and a half with the most famous personal trainers in the country at the moment. Just, you know, because they care.
*It’s actually not that hard for Jackie, though, who charges $400 an hour for personal training.

thanks becky, thanks very much. i do put a lot of thought into what word (or words, as the case may be) would be the appropriate word to link with, and i think this is some of my best work.
