There’s this guy, who was arrested for infiltrating the “bubble zone” at a women’s health clinic in Oakland.

The thing is, when you work at Planned Parenthood for long enough - you start to realize that the batshit crazy anti-abortion folk are always going to be that - batshit crazy. And so you kind of start to shrug your shoulders at these stories, like, “ah, c’est la vie!”

But what really got me worked up about this particular story is that this asshole is in some kind of tizzy about his first amendment rights. I’m sorry, but when you’re exercising your “rights” in a way that tramples on other people’s rights (the right to access to medical care), you’ve pretty much lost any and all credibility. And then when he’s approached by clinic escorts, he has the balls to try and say that they’re harrassing him! Wait, I thought they were just exercising their first amendment rights…

Anyway, it’s really just another dude (natch) masquerading as kind and helpful while trying to coerce women to act the way he wants. But it really got my feminist panties in a wad that they haven’t seen for quite some time, and you know what? It feels real good to rekindle the old righteous indignation, for old times’ sake. Real good.
