I just remembered that Bob Dylan was supposed to do some shows in LA.  I looked up tickets and he’s playing at the Hollywood Palladium.  That’s usually where the little punky/poppy bands play and the last time I was there it was for some porn Halloween event.  Very cool though, it’s minutes from my house.

The tickets are a reasonable $56 (let’s forget that I saw him in 1981 and my mother made such a noise because she spent $14.75 and expected undying gratitude because it was the most she’d ever paid for tickets).  But wait, there are additional ticket fees.  $14.50 to be exact.  And a venue fee?  $4.50.  So a $56 ticket becomes $76.  Why not just make the tickets $76 and charge no fees.  It’s really making things worse by itemizing some jack fee that’s going to piss me off.

In the old days, I guess Bob Dylan would have been pissed off but since his music is used for Victoria’s Secret commercials (kind of sexy) and Kaiser HMO ads (really, Bob?) I’m sure he doesn’t give a rip.

$14.50 fee???????  Bite me, Live Nation.   Sorry, Bob.
